“Won’t go to hear ’em play a tango
I’d rather hear some blues or funky old soul
There’s only one sure way to get me to go
Start playin’ old time rock and roll.”

For many who write music for TV and film, the face and name may not be familiar, but the compositions are ear-worms deep in your soul. For fans of 80s and 90s TGIF fare, it was this man, Jesse Frederick, who composed the themes for such Friday staples as “Perfect Strangers,” “Full House,” “Family Matters,” and “Step By Step.” When the reboot,“Fuller House,” was commissioned, Jesse was re-enlisted to handle the updated version of his original theme, this time calling on Carly Rae Jepson to assume the vocals originally done by Mr. Frederick.  Additionally, he took on the episodic scoring duties along with his music partner, Bennett Salvay.
Naturally, when the fictional band, “Girl Talk,” from the original seres was reborn, a coach was needed to help our star, Jodie, to make her guitar work look more convincing — Jesse was conscripted and showed he knew his way around playing the “axe,” and wielding it, too.
