Greetings over your interweb devices

“I love Lucy and she loves me.
We’re as happy as two can be.
Sometimes we quarrel but then.
How we love making up again.
Lucy kisses like no one can.
She’s my Mrs. and I’m her man.
And life is heaven you see.
Cause I love Lucy,
Yes I love Lucy
And Lucy loves me.”

My good friend, Marsh McCall, wrote a Halloween script for the show Fuller House during season two featuring ghouls and zombies, even a house of horror – all of which made our director Rich Correll (aka the Patron Saint of Halloween) very excited. What caught MY eye was that two of the characters in the show were dressed in costumes to be Lucy and Ricky Ricardo. Our wonderful cast members, Andrea Barber and JP diPace, were excited, too, but they had not grown up on “I Love Lucy” reruns as I had – there were some references unfamiliar to them, like how to do Lucy’s famous, “Ewwwwww.” I threw a pleading look toward Rich and he gave me Carte Blanche to give them background on the history of the show and the characters. I was in heaven. Selecting some key episodes from my collection, and grabbing a few extras like Desi’s autobiography, “A Book” for JP (the audiobook of which he would later record, personally chosen by Lucy Arnaz), I returned to work the next day armed with my goodies.
Needless to say, Andrea and JP’s performances were tremendous — but, looking back, the show has a slight melancholy tinge, as Marsh passed away unexpectedly not long after this episode. It proved to be the last thing he wrote. I was thrilled that we all did him proud that week.

As to the mocked up cover, I was carrying on a tradition I started in high school and college making fake Time and People covers using Letraset, logo letters hand cut from the magazine covers, and a proof printer. Photoshop does make for a better looking project.
