“If I had ever been here before
I would probably know just what to do
Don’t you?
If I had ever been here before on another time around the wheel
I would probably know just how to deal
With all of you
And I feel
Like I’ve been here before
Feel
Like I’ve been here before
And you know it makes me wonder
What’s going on under the ground, hmmm
Do you know? Don’t you wonder?
What’s going on down under you
We have all been here before, we have all been here before.”

Final post on the weekend of my 45th —
It is among the oldest buildings at the top of the Mesa, consists only of nine dorm rooms and a faculty apartment, and is basically the Boardwalk and Park Place of the school.  Should you find yourself on this particular side of the dorm, “seaside Parsonage,” your view every morning and night was the vista I showed yesterday, the Pacific Ocean and the Santa Barbara coastline . Though I never drew that “lucky straw,” I did visit my schoolmates who did and marveled at their fortune.  Had I spent a little more time there, I suspect I might have learned to appreciate those spectacular sunsets a little sooner in my life.
The song is titled “Deja Vu” and it was written by David Crosby.  While I have had the great pleasure of seeing him perform on a few occasions, I have never met the man — but we do share the bond that we both attended the Cate School.
Is it any wonder that I connect such a view and David Crosby whenever I hear that song? – that’s my ’Deja Vu.’
