Greetings over your interweb devices
“Sisters, sisters
There were never such devoted sisters
Never had to have a chaperone, no sir
I’m here to keep my eye on her
Caring, sharing
Every little thing that we are wearing
When a certain gentleman arrived from Rome
She wore the dress and I stayed home.”
In 1987 these two lovely ladies signed on to play sisters, Candace as DJ and Jodie as Stephanie, two of the three Tanner sisters of Full House. Nineteen years later, they would reprise those roles, revisiting the sisters as grown-ups, now collectively raising DJ’s three boys along with the stalwart help and support of childhood friend Kimmy (Andrea Barber).
As children, they were the very embodiment of the phrase, “cute as buttons” — and grew to be stunning women (appearances in this particular Halloween episode perhaps notwithstanding) and terrific actresses! Everyone had a lot of fun doing this episode directed by the ghoulishly great Rich Correll and written by our dear friend, Marsh McCall.
Ironically (or perhaps fittingly?) I last ran into Jodie during a “Day of the Dead” celebration at a cemetery. At least she wasn’t there in “uniform” — although she would have been a pretty big hit if she had!
